DC Power over Ethernet Adapter (DCA)

Our DCA-1 is a replacement for the normal mains operated power supply shipped with small ethernet switches, hubs, IP-phones or other equipment - making them powered from the network instead. It works with 10/100 Mbps ethernets, and has two standard 10/100base-T RJ45 connectors. Either one of these connectors can be used with a "PoE power tap" or split cable or both can be used for ethernet feed through.

Power Hub

Our EHUB1 series of power hubs are intended for distribution of -48V for PoE (Power over Ethernet). They differ from other products on the market in a number of ways making them smaller, more cost effective and more reliable:

They are intended for use in -48V systems. I.e. they have no built-in 230VAC/48VDC conversion, and are thus small in size and power dissipation.
They can be used with vertical air flow cooling - the relative area open for vertical air passage is higher than 50%.
They are intended for Y-forked patch cables, and thus require only one RJ45-connector per output.

The units can be operated completely independent, but also allow full control and supervision via SVIF-T (description) interface. A number of parameters (max power per output, resistance detection, retries at failure, etc) can also be alterade from the shipped configuration and protected against further changes. Input supply voltage is connected to screw terminals at the rear side of the unit. This connection is either made for 3 cables (feeding 16 output each), 2 cables (feeding 24 outputs each) or 1 cable (feeding all 48 outputs) - selectable by jumpers at the terminals. There is also space for running the input cables via the front panel.
The unit is intended for power supply of IEEE802.3af compatible equipment, but fulfils itslef this standard only to a limited degree. Its main divergencies from the standard are evident already by the short description above.

"Inverter Replacement" Unit (IRU)

Our IRU is principally a 48V to 300V DC Converter. It uses the fact that most AC mains power supplies today are switchmode, and thus work as well from 280-370V DC as from the normal 230V AC mains. Known exceptions from this rule are most CRT monitors (using the AC for demagnetizing the CRT) and some printers (using AC motors internally), but the IRU is useful with other equipment. The advantages offered by the IRU, compared to DC/AC inverters, are:

No low frequency input ripple
Lower cost

The unit shown above is a prototype for a 500W "IRU-1" unit having the following preliminary data:
